Toothbrush Meets Garbage Can

The answer to the question of when I need to get a new toothbrush has always seemed to evade me until just recently.  I finally decided that I was going to ask my dentist during my most recent visit and he gave me a quite simple answer.

He said that I should just replace it every 3 months.  He told me that for some people it is better to replace it at 2 1/2 months and for others they can go 4 months.  It really depends on how long and how often they brush but he said that I can’t go wrong if I just do it every 3 months.  My dentist also added on that he would prefer that I use a Sonicare electric toothbrush and simply change the toothbrush head at 3 months.
