Can I disable MFA on a single account? #M365AMA

In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:

“If you’ve enabled security defaults on 365 and all accounts have setup 2FA, is there a way to disable 2FA on one account? I’ve checked the older style multifactor under Active Users in 365 admin and this particular user account as it disabled but yet it still asks for 2FA to be configured. The issue is that an app is having issues sending mail due to the MFA config.”
