January 2024 Content Wrap-Up

I am so glad I started this monthly series years ago to keep track of everything that happened the prior month. Going through this exercise each month, I inevitably find two or three things that I had completely forgotten. Between Rencore and TekkiGurus activities, podcast and MVPbuzzChat interviews, user group presentations, planning for the CollabDays Utah event (April 19th!!), the various Microsoft MVP calls, family activities, and a small dog with separation anxiety, it’s easy to forget a few activities from the past week, let alone the past month.

The only travel in January was to participate in the Microsoft User Group Utah (#MUGUT) monthly meeting and consume pizza. No current travel plans for February, but lots going on in March, April, and May. It’s good to have some quiet time, but I’m already getting anxious to get back out there.

Oh yeah, and this marks the completion of 29 months of daily blog posts. My next milestone will be 1,000 posts in 1,000 days, which is not too far away…

Here’s what went live in January:

Launch of the Guardians of M365 Governance Show

For the launch of this new monthly livestream show with Ragnar Heil, we were joined by fellow MVPs David Drever (@DavidMDrever) and Joanne Klein (@JoanneCKlein), to discuss several topics, including what it means to apply governance to Copilot, the latest on M365 security and compliance for SharePoint, Syntex, and Purview, and to hear about their new podcast, “Compliance Unplugged.” Follow the link to register and watch on-demand, as well as get invites for future shows.

Verizon content

I’m wrapping up a project with Verizon Business that included articles, a podcast (going live next week), and short video series from a panel that was recorded with fellow MVPs a couple of months back. If you’ve not seen them on my social channels, there’ll be a long version hitting my blog later this month. If you’re interested in perspectives on unified communications, definitely check them out below.

  • Cyber Resilience in UC Systems: Strategies from Microsoft and Verizon [blog]
  • How wireless technology is accelerating the unified communication transformation [Verizon]
  • Video 1: How does Verizon’s integration with Microsoft Teams stand out from other unified communication solutions in the market?  [YouTube]
  • Video 2: What are some of the common business challenges when integrating mobile telephony with platforms like Microsoft Teams?  [YouTube]
  • Video 3: What are the benefits of leveraging Verizon’s LTE network versus using a voice solution for Teams calling? [YouTube]

Interviews

Still one of my favorite pastimes, the CollabTalk Podcast continues to roll out every Thursday (except for today, because it’s the 1st of the month and this summary takes precedence), and the MVP interview series (#MVPbuzzChat) continues to publish every Monday. I’m blessed to have a backlog of content for each, spending my weekends doing the post-production and scheduling these episodes to go live. I hope you enjoy watching/listening as much as I do recording them!

AMA

How can we boost user adoption of our SharePoint environment? #M365AMAAs much as I love the interviews and meeting new people from around the world, my absolute fave community contribution is organizing these panel discussions and answering YOUR questions about Microsoft technology. For January, the crew answered 12 more questions AND we brought back the original live stream format for the 1st time in more than 2 years, with plans to do this quarterly!

Articles

Between all of the interview, AMAs, and online events, I managed to put together a handful of standalone articles…and neglected to do the same for TekiGurus. Fixing that shortly…

  • The Struggle with User Adoption [blog]
  • The Most Commonly Asked Questions About Microsoft 365 [blog]
  • Keeping Up with Microsoft [blog]

Music

Yes, this is how I spend my Saturdays — doing post-production on videos and podcast episodes, listening to music (really loud), and blogging about some of my favorite artists.

  • Blue Plate Special: Radiohead [blog]
  • Blue Plate Special: Chvrches [blog]

Blatant Self-Promotion

As always, rounding out the month by tooting my own horn. Oh, and I moderated a webinar. More of that to come in February…

  • December 2023 Content Wrap-Up [blog]
  • Webinar Moderator: 3 Cs of Microsoft Teams: Communication, Collaboration and Content, with Shari Oswald [TekkiGurus]

I think that is everything. If not, I’ll update the list over the weekend. Pretty sure that’s it, though. As always, more was generated but it has not been published yet, so next month…
