Why am I not seeing new posts in the Teams mobile client? #M365AMA

In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:

“We have several members reporting they are not seeing new posts in teams mobile client. They are able to see them on the desktop client but they are not showing on the mobile client. Normally removing the client from the mobile device and reinstalling it fixes the problem. I’m sure you can imagine this work around is not going over well with the members. Has anyone else noticed this issue?”

Some relevant notes/links shared by the team:

  • There are a few things you can try as you troubleshoot this problem:
    • Notifications might be turned off. Make sure your notifications are ON and preferences set. To do this, within the mobile app click on your profile at the top left, and select Notifications and turn on in-app notifications. There is also a Support link to find out how to further troubleshoot your app.
    • For iOS, you also need to make sure that app notifications are turned on for the Teams app for your device IN ADDITION TO the app settings. Not an Android guy, but assuming there is a similar step here.
    • As troubleshooting steps, you can do the following:
      • Ensure that you have the latest update/version of the app.
      • Ensure that your internet connection is working.
      • Clear your cache by going into Settings > Storage > Apps > Teams app and select Clear Cache.
      • If nothing else works, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Teams client.
  • This is just an observation, but I see that most online chatter about this problem comes from the Android community. #imjustsaying
