June 2021 Content Wrap-Up

I’m on the road this week visiting my daughter and her family in Minneapolis, trying to put together this list of content between meetings and the long list of projects she needs help with around the house before I head home tomorrow afternoon. The week included some sightings of fellow community members….however, we neglected to take any photos, so I’m not sure if they actually happened. I do my best to pull together all of the output from the previous month in these wrap-up blog posts, but I’m sure I’ll forget a couple things and will likely refresh the post once or twice next week.

In June, I participated in two major events. First up was the European SharePoint, Office 365, and Azure Conference (#ESPC21) from June 1+2, followed by the Microsoft 365 Collaboration Conference on June 8-10. The latter was a hybrid event held in Orlando, Florida. I would have loved to have attended in-person, but the timing just didn’t work. Unfortunately, I do not have slides to share for the M365 event (my session was “How Organizations Can Prepare for Microsoft Viva“). They were made available to paid attendees, but I plan to repeat the session (updated, of course) for the Las Vegas event in early December AND plan to have a supporting eBook and blog series in the coming months, so watch this space for updates!

Looking forward to the second half of the year. The big news, of course, is AvePoint’s IPM (initial public merger) event happening tomorrow afternoon, culminating in our listing on NASDAQ ($AVPT) and the ringing of the bell ceremony. I wish I could be there in person, but I’m excited to be a part of this moment. I plan to do a blog write up next week after I get home. I’m starting the drive home immediately following the NASDAQ events, and plan to pass through Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton  National Park on my path back to Utah.

AND I am also looking forward to returning to in-person events beginning with the North American Collaboration Summit (NACS) in August, SPFest DC and Dallas in September and October, and the M365 Collab Conference in December. Hope to see you there! With that, here’s my summary of content activities for the prior month:

Another stellar #ESPC21 event

ESPC 2015 panelAs I’ve shared numerous times, ESPC is one of my favorite events as both a speaker and a sponsor. I’ve keynoted the event 3 times: Copenhagen 2013 with Dan Holme (@danholme), Barcelona 2014 with Mark Kashman (@mkashman), and Stockholm 2015 with Benjamin Niaulin (@bniaulin), and for the past 3 years I have been able to also participate as a Community Reporter. As with most (if not all) events, ESPC went virtual last year and this year, but I’m looking forward to participating once again in-person in 2022. My session recording and slides (“20 Need-to-Know Microsoft Teams Productivity Tips“) are available to registrants.

Office Hours live streams

Another month, another set of Office 365 Hours live stream recordings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, this time with fellow MVPs Stacy Deere-Strole (@sldeere) and Loryan Strant (@loryanstrant), both of whom are also AvePoint Community Champions. Also included here is the final recording (Episode 61) from my weekly M365 Office Hours, which will be moving to monthly and will be rebranded as the #M365AMA (Ask Me Anything) live stream, which kicks off at 9am Pacific on July 14th.

June 2021 #CollabTalk TweetJam

While I try to capture a 1 on 1 interview each month with a participant from that month’s tweetjam, I had a couple cancellations and scheduling conflicts for May, but eventually sat down with fellow MVP Wes Preston (@idubbs) to discuss the May topic of productivity in the enterprise. For the June topic on the hybrid workplace, we had a small turnout but excellent conversation via Twitter, and I was able to interview another fellow MVP, David Drever (@davidmdrever) for his takeaways on the topic. For the July topic (scheduled for July 21st), look for a partner/channel-related topic.

Community Interviews

In addition to 3 additions to my #MVPbuzzChat interview series, I was included in a redmond Channel Partner article on AvePoint’s channel plans, as well as a fun podcast with Paul Muller as we talked about the continued growth of Microsoft’s collaboration and productivity solutions.

Other Events

And finally, I joined forces once again with my good friend Tom Duff (@duffbert) to share 20 of our favorite productivity tips with the Minnesota M365 user group. Always fun to hang out virtually with Tom, and the session had excellent turnout.

And that’s a wrap on June 2021 content! Tomorrow is AvePoint’s huge NASDAQ listing event, and then I’ll be driving home (about 20 hours of driving, in case you were wondering). I love spending time out on the road, but I am anxious to get home and get to work following this momentous event. Here’s to a successful FY22, which kicks off today!
