Windows Live Writer

Windows Live Writer In ActionI thought I’d try out the new Live Writer beta and share my experiences. So far so good — a nice interface, good flow, like a simplified Microsoft Word app. I am impressed. The web preview option is slick, the quick options for manipulating photos is great, and it allows you to add effects or inherit your photo defaults from whatever platform you use (I use Typepad). Very cool. Yes, I know the image is bad. It was snapped with my Motorola Q smartphone.

And as a fan of the local.live maps, I appreciate the ability to drop in a map. I’ll definitely be using that in the future. I’ll have to play around with this some more, with video and audio, and report back on what I think.

But the best aspect of Live Writer for me will be the ability to create posts offline and update as I reconnect.
