Silversun Pickups

I neglected to write about the show I attended a couple weeks back. Friday the 13th of April, in fact. The Los Angeles-based band Silversun Pickups was in town and played at Neumos down in Seattle, with opening band Seawolf, which I rather liked, as well. I forgot to bring my camera, and so once again subject my readers to 1.3 megapixels of viewing splendor of one of the best bands out there.

I was amazed by the sheer talent of Brian Aubert, lead singer/guitarist. I compare him to Matt Bellamy of Muse, which is about the best compliment I can give an artist. Rounding out the quartet are Nikki Monninger on bass, Joe Lester on keyboards, and Christopher Guanlao on drums (who did the coolest bounce catch during his performance, and also looks 14). I suspect this will be the last time we see this band in such a small venue. They are destined for much much bigger things.

And here’s a picture of Seawolf, if you’re interested. I’m definitely going to pick up their CD, tho. Really good sound.
