Australia is a Wrap
I’m sitting here in the airport in Sydney, waiting for my flight to board to make my way over to New Zealand and thought I’d quickly recap the week. The purpose of my trip was twofold: First, to sponsor and present a session at the Australian SharePoint Conference, organized by Debbie Ireland, Mark Orange, and the SPEvents team. Second, to help officially open the new Axceler office in North Sydney. Growth in the region has been tremendous, with Australia one of the fastest growing global regions for SharePoint adoption, and so Axceler was compelled to be here locally.
Of course, if you know the history of the company, you know that Axceler acquired echoTechnology last year, which was founded in Sydney about 7 years ago, and was one of the earliest SharePoint ISVs, focusing on migration. We now have a small team on the ground, with Vijay Raghvani (@VijayRaghvani) leading channel management, developing our partner program in region, and working closely with our US West Coast Sales out of our Los Angeles office. Also in Sydney is Sergio Otoya, SharePoint architect and manager of the migration development team.
Of course, visiting Sydney for the first time, I did try to take an afternoon to walk around the city and see a few things. Loved my time there – now on to New Zealand!
