Instructional Video for Microsoft MVPs

image

Once in a while its nice to be able to give back to the community, and after seeing a few social networking comments yesterday from Alistair Pugin (@alistairpugin), Gus Fraser (@gusfraser), and the always-so-serious Marc Anderson (@sympmarc) about the complexity surrounding the MVP Award (the actual, physical award, that is), I knew that I needed to take action. I threw this video together today, pushing off all of my Saturday tasks and ignoring the needs of my children.

But it was the right thing to do.

You’re welcome.

lol, you win the internet today.

  2. Thank HEAVENS someone took it upon himself to clear this up. I wondered how this device was supposed to work for the entirety of the fifteen years I was an MVP prior to MS giving these out, and for the five years since then, I’ve had this nagging feeling that I was not doing it right. Thanks to this brilliant video, I can stop worrying and love the award.
Since you mention the horizontal configuration, a helpful hint: For MVPs who attend Summit but cannot bear to be away from their award for longer than, say, the average tenure of an MS dev or program manager on a given product team, or the length of the Summit, by all means bring the award along and remember that handy horizontal config trick. It’ll be very useful after a long data exchange session at the Rock Bottom.
