#MVPbuzzChat with Mikael Svenson

In Episode 13 (published on a Friday, no less!), I connected with fellow Office Servers & Services MVP Mikael Svenson (@mikaelsvenson), a long-time SharedPoint guy and Chief Technology Officer for Puzzlepart, and located in Oslo, Norway. Mikael is one of those familiar faces that I’ve seen at various events over most of the last decade, and who regularly appears on videos, blogs, and forums around various SharePoint development and IT Pro topics.

As we discuss in the video, Mikael spent his first few years in the SharePoint world working on search, although he’s not doing much on the topic recently. What he and his company are known for are Business Apps development. Of course, I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t drag him back into his past, and complained about what does not work well in SharePoint search, the not-yet-realized promises of Delve and machine-learning, and other complaints that he was so nice to address.

Where we really spent the bulk of our conversation, however, was around Office 365 Groups, automation of the provisioning process, and topics around user and information lifecycles and the governance required to manage them. A great discussion on some of the gaps of the existing platform, and how partners are working to address them.

And if you’d like to connect directly with Mikael, he can be found on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
