Speaking at SPCNA19 in Las Vegas

As the title explains, I’ll be presenting at another SharePoint Conference this May, returning again to Las Vegas for SharePoint Conference North America 2019. The event runs from May 21st through 23rd, with workshops on the 19th, 20th, and 24th for those looking for additional training. I’ve attended every SharePoint Conference since my start at Microsoft back in 2006, and wouldn’t miss this event for the world. It’s the largest SharePoint-focused event in the world, with the most expansive expo hall full of partner solutions and expertise that you do not want to miss! This year, my time in Las Vegas will be brief due to some family activities: I’ll be in Minneapolis over the weekend prior for my daughter’s grad school graduation (she’s completing her Masters in Public Health Administration at the University of Minnesota) which is on the 20th, and then flying directly to Las Vegas the morning of the 21st, will present on the 22nd before returning home late that night….with my son Nicholas returning from his 2-year church mission to Sweden on the 23rd. It’s going to be quite the jam-packed week!

SPCNA19 session details for Duff and BuckleyWith all of that going on, I’m still very excited to be joined on the big stage by my good friend and collaborator Thomas Duff (@duffbert) as we present “20 Office 365 Productivity Tips You’ve Probably Never Used (But Should).”  Our session is easy enough to spot in the program: we’re right at the top (for now). Due to my abbreviated schedule, we’ll likely present the first half of May 22nd, as I head back to the airport in the afternoon.

Why attend this session? For those who have caught one of our 9 (so far) webinars or live sessions where we go head-to-head to compete around 10 different productivity tips, allowing the audience to vote after each round on their favorite, this session will *not* be a competition. Instead, Tom and I are joining forces to bring you 20 of our favorite Office 365 productivity tips, spanning all of the different workloads and tools, from SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to OneNote and Yammer. Honestly, I’m not sure how we’re going to pack 20 of them into a 60 minute session….but we’ll give it the good old college try! And of course all of the slides will be made available — and Tom and I have discussed creating some other free downloads in support of these tips so that attendees have instant tools for helping their teams get more out of Office 365, immediately.

Historical note: the concept of this session goes back a few years. I’ve been presenting a version of this topic since early 2010, and have had more than 500,000 views with tens of thousands of downloads of the slides through SlideShare! Pretty incredible — and speaks to the level of interest people have in the subject-matter.

If you’re still not convinced you should attend our Las Vegas session, check out our promotional video produced this past weekend:

Ok, we’re being silly and there’s no real substance within the video to convince anyone of anything, but we do always try to make these fun and informative, and people seem to enjoy the sessions.

For those who have not seen one of our joint webinars or live sessions, we’ve posted the recordings to YouTube and made all of our slides available via SlideShare. Most of what we present also finds its way onto Tom’s blog at www.OneMinuteOfficeMagic.com. I’m also going back through and creating blog posts for each, providing timestamp links to the 10 tips shared in each session, and am considering building a searchable Power BI database with faceted search, as this list of tips is going to get unwieldy quick. Here’s the list of recordings to date, including links to videos, publication date, slides, and for those completed, links to the associated blog posts:

Of course, Tom and I are scheduled for several ‘Office 365 Productivity Tips’ webinars in the run-up to Las Vegas, so please register and join us online for any of these whether or not you can make it to SPCNA. While our session will include a number of our favorites, most of what you’ll see in our webinars will not be repeated in Las Vegas so that we can add value to those who attend our session AND participate in our webinars. In our head-to-head matches, you’ll never see the same tip twice, which means that so far we’ve shared 90 productivity tips through 9 events! Here are the upcoming events already on the books — so please join us and register:

Hope to see you in Vegas and/or online for one of our upcoming webinars! And please subscribe to my YouTube channel for updates! Subscribe to CollabTalk on YouTube
