Speaking at SharePointFest Seattle 2019

I’m looking forward to taking another road trip to Seattle for SharePointFest Seattle 2019, taking place August 19th through 23rd at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle. SPFest continues to grow each year, and while I’ve loved participating in the DC and Chicago events, this one is my favorite due to the location. The Puget Sound still feels like home to me, and I’m excited to see friends and family — and to talk about SharePoint, Teams, and end user productivity. If you have not yet registered, be sure to use my speaker code to save $100.

This year I will be presenting 3 sessions:

Options for Building a Modern Extranet

PWR103 – Wed, August 21st at 1:30pm – Room 606

There are many solutions that allow for collaboration with customers, partners, and virtual teams that stretch inside and outside of your organization, but which tools work the best in different scenarios?

In this session geared toward end users, we’ll discuss how the latest Office 365 tools and solutions can be leveraged for different extranet scenarios, and help you to decide which of them best fit your specific needs. Solutions to be discussed include SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, OneDrive, Stream, and more. Presenting with Microsoft’s Mark Kashman (@mkashman)

Extending Your SharePoint Information Architecture to Microsoft Teams

TMS202 – Thur, August 22nd at 1:20pm – Room 613/614

One of the collaboration strengths of Microsoft Teams is its relatively simple hierarchy, focused on improving small team (inner loop) collaboration and communication. However, organizations still need to be thoughtful about how they align their broader information architecture (IA).

This session outlines the core tenets of your SharePoint IA, how these translate across Microsoft Teams, and how Teams impacts your long-term IA strategy.

Top 20 Tips for Office 365 Productivity

OFF303 – Fri, August 23rd at 1pm – Room 602/603

In this fun and informative session, Microsoft MVP Christian Buckley will share 20 of his favorite Office 365 and Microsoft Office productivity tips, with a focus on personal productivity. These tips will span the entire Office 365 platform (Yammer, SharePoint, Teams, and the Office suite), and attendees should walk away with at least 4 or 5 gems that can have an immediate impact on your own (and your team’s) productivity.

Throughout the week I will be recording for the CollabTalk YouTube channel and podcast (now available on Soundcloud, iTunes, and Stitcher), so if you’re planning to attend (and would like to participate) please find me walking around the convention center with my gear.

I’ll also be participating in the user group activity Thursday night, including a SharePint. If you’re NOT planning to attend the conference BUT you would still love to join the user group activity, register HERE to get your free pass to SharePoint Fest Palooza, which includes access to the last 2 sessions of the day at SharePointFest and the expo hall, plus the Ask the Experts evening panel! From there, many of us will gather for a SharePint (details forthcoming). Hope to see you there!
