Event Plans for Q4 of 2019

As we roll into Q4 of the year, I’m trying to get organized around my planned travel and client projects, and thought I’d share when and where I’ll be speaking (as of this posting) for the remainder of the year. Of course, I’m sure there will be other speaking opportunities that will pop up between now and the end of the year, so be sure to follow my on the Twitters (@buckleyplanet) for the latest breaking news. But here is what I have planned to date:

SharePoint Saturday Los Angeles (Sep 28th)

Microsoft, La Playa Vista, California http://www.spsevents.org/city/losangeles/losangeles2019

These tips will span the entire Office 365 platform (Yammer, SharePoint, Teams, and the Office suite), and attendees should walk away with at least 4 or 5 gems that can have an immediate impact on your own (and your team’s) productivity.

ARMA Conference (Oct 21st-23rd)

Nashville, Tennessee https://www.arma.org/page/infocon

Closing Keynote: The Rise of the Digital Workplace Champion

Abstract: The future of collaboration is all about business transformation, and moving toward the Digital Workplace. But what does that mean for each of us individually? Any kind of digital transformation will have an impact on our technology and core business processes — but the biggest impact will undoubtedly be to company culture. Are you ready for this change? What will be your personal role as your organization transforms? In this keynote presentation, Christian will talk about the personal and cultural impacts of the Digital Workplace, outline the roles needed for successful transformation, and share insights into how each of us can be better prepared for the changes ahead.

Microsoft Ignite, Nov 3rd-8th

Orlando, Florida https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ignite

CollabTalk Podcast (POD1046): How culture drives innovation

Abstract: In his short tenure as Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella has shown the impact that an improved corporate culture can have on innovation. In this vlog + podcast, we hear from leaders within Microsoft and partner organizations who talk about organizational transformation and innovation through cultural change.

CollabTalk Podcast (POD1071): What it takes to become an MVP or RD

Abstract: While it may seem like the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) and Regional Director (RD) programs are shrouded in mystery, there are many ways in which community members can stand out from the crowd toward becoming an MVP or RD. In this vlog + podcast, we outline the process for being considered for both programs, and hear from program leads and current MVPs and RDs who share some guidance to help you along the path.

Theater Session (THR2053): What happens when you disable sharing?

Abstract: In the modern workplace, moving between tools and platforms should be fairly seamless. End users expect to be able to not only work from anywhere, but to also have access to their content whenever and wherever needed. The expectation is that sharing content should be native to every collaboration and productivity tool and service, period. Even with this important role within the Office 365 platform, some customers want to limit – or disable – this capability. This session walks through the functional and governance implications of disabling sharing within Office 365.

The panel will take some audience questions, and will share their real-world examples, best practices, and lessons-learned on making Teams a success. (session link)

I’ll be returning once again to one of my favorite global events, and amidst the many different interviews and recordings, I’ll be leading a speaker panel discussion on the latest Teams features. Abstract and panelists to be shared soon.

I am also running the Community Reporters program again this year, and will share more news on this topic over the next couple weeks. Additionally, we’ll be interviewing speakers, sponsors, and attendees throughout the week, so watch for some great content from this team!
