10 New Wave Favorites for #MusicFriday

Here we are on another #MusicFriday, and while I enjoyed sharing detailed information about 5 albums from the 1980’s that I feel are underrated, I don’t have time to compile the history behind each of the following songs and bands. So this time around, I’ll keep things light with links to the songs and artists, but without the history lesson.

To clarify, the following is not a list of my Top 10 favorites, but are songs that I still listen to regularly via Spotify playlists. But I do indeed own the CD’s and/or vinyl for each of them. In fact, I purchased about half of them when the songs were first released (although all of my vinyl was stolen in 1987 and I had to start over with my collection). I hope you enjoy these selections, all of which you can finds on my Hard Core New Wave playlist:

  1. The UnconventionalJapan
  2. It Could Be SunshineLove and Rockets
  3. StrangerClan of Xymox
  4. Collapsing New PeopleFad Gadget
  5. Like An AnimalThe Glove
  6. PersephoneCocteau Twins
  7. BoomerangXmal Deutschland
  8. RevengeMinistry
  9. New EuropeansUltravox
  10. Quite UnusualFront 242

Hope you enjoy the list. I’ll try to explore a music topic each Friday, so keep watching this space!
