#MsftBuzzChat with Chris Bortlik
In Episode 5 of this Microsoft employee-focused interview series, I was able to connect with Chris Bortlik (@cbortlik), a Principal Technical Architect at the Microsoft Technology Center in Boston, and a long-time community leader in the SharePoint, Office 365, and Power Platform spaces in the greater Boston area.
In our discussion, Chris and I discuss his new role as a Principal Technical Architect, having spent the last 12 years in technology architect roles in the SharePoint and Office 365 space, focused almost exclusively on collaboration. For those who don’t know Chris, he was one of the key points-of-contact within Microsoft for the Boston-area SharePoint community, helping support SharePoint Saturday events and other community-led initiatives, which is where I got to know him during my SPS event travels.
Additionally, in our conversation Chris shed some light on just what happens behind closed doors at the 15 Microsoft Technology Centers in the US, and the dozens of other locations around the world. I’ve been able to interact with several of the MTC to attend as well as co-host a number of community events, such as SharePoint Saturday events and partner events. Chris talks about being involved in the forthcoming “Teams Thursday” event to be held in Boston (in April 2020), and some of the other regional community activities that he helps to support.
