Prasanna’s topic today was “The ‘New’ Microsoft Project: Bridging Project Management and Work Management.”
Abstract: Did you know that Microsoft launched a new evolution of Microsoft Project? The new tool is modern, simple and collaborative more than ever. Traditionally, project management tools are pretty good at helping organizations manage projects. At an organizational level or a departmental level this works, because the management of ‘work’ is done at a macro level. However, the question of how the work is managed at a micro level i.e. at an individual/team level has not quite been solved through these tools. This resulted in the up rise of several “work” management tools, which focus on how work is managed at an individual/team level, which is great, but they left a gap in the big picture of managing at a project level, and strategic priorities. Now, the question is, does the “New Project”, solve both of these conundrums. This session will delve deeper into some real life scenarios, which different roles like a Project manager, Resource manager, Team member will come across, and provide perspective on how the “New Project” will help solve them.
