May 2021 Content Wrap-Up

Is life passing by as a blur for anyone else? Good grief, another month already gone and I’m scrambling to collect my list of content and activities. So many good intentions (at least when it comes to blog posts) and the hard, blunt edge of reality. I did not have the time (or the energy) to accomplish all of my content goals, but I did manage to squeak out a few things while also participating in a few online events.

As for my goal of penning 20 productivity tip blog posts, I DID compile a list of 20 Microsoft Teams tips, but decided to create an eBook first. They are currently in post-production with the AvePoint marketing team, and will be available (soon, I hope) as a free download. Once that asset is available, I plan to go through the series and provide a walkthrough on each productivity tip — with the download as a call-to-action (CTA) at the end of each post. Watch for it this summer!

Other activities not appearing on this month’s list were a number of video assets for the upcoming ESPC21 online event. Returning as a community reporter for a 3rd year, I conducted a number of interviews and moderated a panel discussion, and will also be providing pre- and post-keynote analysis for morning AND afternoon keynotes (UK time zone). That’s right: I’ll be doing a couple more all-nighters in June. But I’m a fan of the ESPC events, and am looking forward to (hopefully) getting back to in-person in 2022 somewhere in Europe. My last trip across the pond was to ESPC19 in Prague, with a few days spent in London. I am itching to get back over and see friends again. Soon, I hope.

Having said that, here’s my content wrap-up for the month of May:

Community Office Hours AMA

What started as a group of friends near the start of the pandemic as a way to get together and joke around while also answering questions from the community, we published our 60th weekly episode as a group of friends getting together to joke around and also answer some community questions. While we are no longer planning to live stream weekly episodes, don’t worry: we’ll continue to broadcast a similar AMA (ask me anything) format on a monthly cadence, beginning in July. We’re rebranding to the Microsoft 365 AMA, or #M365AMA, so watch for updates via social media!

#MVPbuzzChat interview series

The MVP (and RD) interview series continues, with two more entries. If you are a current MVP and would like to be a part of this series, please reach out to me and I’d love to get to know you and set up some time for an interview. I think I have 6 or 7 interviews scheduled over the next month, but more is always good.

#O365hours interview series

My twice-monthly #O365hours interviews broadcast on the AvePoint LinkedIn, YouTube, and facebook pages continues, with live broadcasts on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. This month, I was joined by fellow RD’s Sharon Weaver and Eric Overfield (also an Office Apps & Services MVP). If you have a topic you’d like me to cover, please let me know.

May #CollabTalk TweetJam

For the second time in the last year, the #CollabTalk TweetJam joined forces with a live event, providing the endnote session for the TeamsNation online event with a focus on productivity. You can find the supporting blog post below. However, I was not able to lock down a speaker for the tweetjam takeaways. After a couple cancellations, I’ll be conducting that final interview on the topic, covering the 7 questions from the tweetjam, sometime in early June. Watch for it!

Other online activities

And finally…the “other” activities. The first was a fun interview during Keith Richie’s weekly live stream broadcast. We do not talk technology — it’s all about music. Keith was kind enough to create a remix of a song that I co-wrote with my good friend and former co-worker Mike Watson, called ‘The Silver Chair’ which you can find through his link below. The second link is for a Clubhouse-based discussion that Jeff Willinger and I hosted. And the third is a link to last month’s summary post. No surprises there.

And that’s it for May…with more to come in June. As mentioned, I’m participating in ESPC21 (European SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure Conference) online, and a week later have a session in the Microsoft 365 Collaboration Conference hybrid event, which is taking place in Orlando, Florida (but I will be remote, alas). Plenty more online activities in June and July, but looking forward to my next in-person event in August, where I’m heading back to Branson, Missouri for the North American Collaboration Conference (NACS), also hybrid. Hope to see you there!
