After removing an eDiscovery hold, why can’t I delete my SharePoint site? #M365AMA
In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:
“User is unable to delete classic team sharepoint site . He gets message that there is conservation hold on it but the hold was removed. We are getting error message: sorry something went wrong. This site collection cant be deleted because it contains sites that are included in an ediscovery hold or retention policy. On other sites where the hold was removed , we were able to delete the site without problem. But for some sites, we cannot. Any idea how to overcome this issue?”

Some relevant notes/links shared by the team:
- Find out why the site is on “hold.” If it is OK to delete, remove the hold. If you are unable to do so open a support ticket and they can do it behind the scenes. [https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/managing-holds?view=o365-worldwide]
