August 2022 Content Wrap-Up
August was a major milestone! One year ago I committed to blogging daily for a year, and I wrapped up the month with a 365 in 365 blog post. I’m not going to lie: it was not easy. But I am considering keeping the run going. Ask me in a couple weeks how it’s going…
August also included one event — the IT Nation Evolve event in Denver, during which I was able to meet up with one of AvePoint’s Community Champions (Shari Oswald) + some local MVPs (Adam Ball and Jonathan McKinney). Always happy to meet up with members of the community and talk shop. We had a great discussion on the state of events (all of them were getting ready for Comms vNext the following week) with the general consensus that people want to get back to in-person events, and attendance numbers are on the rise.
Speaking of events, I will be participating in at least 3 events (so far) in September, beginning with the Microsoft Power Platform Conference in Orlando, joining a small team of AvePointers for the week. No sessions — just there as an attendee and co-hosting a couple activities with AvePoint Champions, some fellow MVPs, partners and customers. I will be presenting a session on Microsoft teams Governance for the free and online Teams 10x event on Sept 28+29 for which you can register here. And finally, I’ll be attending the Silicon Slopes Summit on Sept 29+30 which was, prior to the pandemic, the largest tech conference in the Western US outside of San Francisco and Las Vegas hosted right here in Salt Lake City. Looking forward to seeing more of the local community!
As always, all travels subject to change, although I don’t expect anything to be removed from this schedule — only added. And with that, here’s a summary of my content from this past month:
Answering community questions via expert panels
Another month, another 14 ask-me-anything (AMA) expert panels answered questions from YOU in the community. We enjoy answering these questions, and hope you do too. I have a couple dozen episodes in the post-production phase, so watch this space for updates. A focus on Microsoft Viva Engage
With the general availability of Microsoft Engage, I focused the August #CollabTalk TweetJam and #O365hours interview with Microsoft’s Steve Nguyen on the topic. I also penned a short post on what I view as the real value of Viva Engage: surfacing content and expertise within the enterprise.

Content for the channel with #P2Pnow
The AvePoint #P2Pnow series continues to produce content for the partner community. We’re taking a pause in September to make some changes to the assets we’ve already created, but don’t worry — more is on the way! We’re planning to expand on several of the topics and invest more around their social promotion. More writing asks for me, methinks…

Community interviews
One of my favorite pastimes is interviewing business and technology experts. Here’s another interview from my bi-monthly Office 365 Hours (#O365hours) show on the AvePoint blog and YouTube page, plus 5 more weekly MVP interviews. If you are a current or former (#ReConnect) MVP or RD and would like to be included in this interview series to talk about your path to becoming an MVP or RD and your involvement within the community, please reach out to me.

Blatant self-promotion
And finally, here are 3 self-promotional posts from the past month. The Lightning Talks blog post came from a Facebook discussion where I shared some of these funny links, and then went ahead and expanded my comments into a full post. Definitely worth the read.
