Expanding the CollabTalk Podcast

As I’ve been participating in internal and channel planning activities for Q4 of this year and FY23 plans overall, I’ve also been thinking about expanding my approach to the CollabTalk Podcast. My weekly MVP interviews are still going strong with new episodes posted every Monday, but after several months of my Friday interviews, I took a break. I’m now ready to ramp things back up again, but with a renewed focus for the remainder of this year and beyond.
Here’s how I am structuring the new episodes, which will continue to be posted every Friday, but now with a weekly focus:
Week One: Microsoft Announcements + Community News
On a monthly basis, I will be joined by MVP Sean McDonough (@spmcdonough) and Geoff Varosky (@gvaro) to talk about the various Microsoft announcements, Message Center updates, community events and news, and the occasional pop culture story…whether or not it is relevant to whatever we’re discussing. I always enjoy hanging out with these two and cracking jokes, making this a fun and informative segment each month.
Week Two: Insights + Automation
For the next monthly topic, I will be joined by MVP and new member of the extended AvePoint team, Norm Young (@stormin_30) from the tyGraph team, to talk about collaboration insights and analytics, automation, and all-thing Power Platform. We’ll also include announcements and news of the day, with a mind toward the data behind the collaboration, and how organizations can optimize and automate their collaboration.
Week Three: Employee Experience
As a new member of the Viva Explorers community of Microsoft MVPs, my goal is to host one or more fellow MVPs from this group to talk about employee experience topics, including what is happening within the Microsoft Viva community. We may also include different guests from Microsoft and the partner ecosystem, depending on the topic. Microsoft is projecting massive growth for Viva, and I expect there to be a lot to discuss in this space.
Week Four: Industry Expertise
Once a month I will continue to feature communication and collaboration experts, influencers, and executives from inside and outside of the Microsoft ecosystem to share their insights and experiences on the broader topics within the tech and business communities.
Week Five: TweetJam Highlights
When there is a 5th Friday, I plan to provide selected conversations from recent CollabTalk TweetJams, sometimes adding ideas and commentary and pointing listeners to key online resources.
On the surface, it may look like a lot of work. In my mind, I’ll now be sharing the load with several good friends and community peers. One of my favorite pastimes is to talk with and learn from others within the community, which doesn’t feel like work to me. I’m looking forward to this new schedule, and hearing your feedback!
