Can I get Teams notifications without an Exchange account? #M365AMA
In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:
“Is there a way to get email notifications when someone in a team has posted a message. I found only this notification in the Teams client under Settings you can activate this. Brings with me but unfortunately nothing. Can someone show a photo of how such a mail looks like? Could this be because we do not use Exchange / Outlook online? We still have an on Premis Exchange Server and therefore no connection between mails between the Clound and the local Exchange. Use only AAD for login.”

- As we mention in the video, Exchange and SharePoint are integral to Teams. While you CAN use Teams without having an Exchange Online account, Teams creates a hidden EXO to enable core capabilities.
