First Community Event for 2023

Kicking off a new year with a great community event, it was great to see people in-person once again — some of whom I have not seen since pre-pandemic. The SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities event is now M365 Twin Cities (M365TC.com). New location (they moved from Normandale College on the south end of Minneapolis to Hennepin Technical College on the north end), new speaker dinner and post-event restaurants (both Tavern on France and Khans have shut down, I’m sorry to say), but the same team and same community vibe. Always happy to participate in these Minneapolis events, and if they move back to twice a year, I hope to be out there again this fall.

Tom and I, with Liz in front of our M365TC sessionThe other reason I am a fan of this event is that is affords me another opportunity to visit my daughter and her family. The new venue is just a few minutes away, so this worked out beautifully.

I once again joined forces with Tom Duff (@duffbert) to duke it out with dueling productivity tips, letting the audience vote across 5 rounds of head-to-head action. Thanks to Liz Sundet (#NotTracy) for keeping score! I still need to dig back through the stats to see what the overall numbers look like, but for this latest events, I won 3 of 5 rounds, although Tom walked away with the most total votes. Still, it was only a 5 vote difference, keeping things neck and neck, as always.

I’d like to once again thank Wes, Sarah, and the entire M365TC team for putting on a great event, for everyone who came to my session with Tom (especially those who voted for my tips!), and to the many great partner discussions in the expo hall. I have follow up calls this next week, and hopefully one or more partnerships will unfold.

I am excited to be back out there attending these community-led events, and look forward to sharing more event plans soon!
