How do I calculate the dates in a SharePoint list? #M365AMA

In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:

“I am trying to calculate the dates in a SharePoint list but can’t get my head around it, I have a new item for an example added to the list where it shows what date and time it was logged on. My request is to create another two columns where one column will fetch how long since the new item was opened, and another column since how long since the item was modified. Anyone has any thoughts of a simple syntax for the formula?”
