Q4 2023 Travel Plans
As we enter fall and Q4 events, it appears that we’ll be closing out the year with a major bang. Here’s where you’ll find me in the coming months:
Microsoft Power Platform Conference, Las Vegas, Oct 3-5
I’m driving back down to Las Vegas this next week, departing on Tuesday and returning late Thursday (more likely early Friday) for the second annual Power Platform Conference with 4,000 of my fellow community members. Looking forward to seeing friends and partners, so if you catch me in the hallway or expo hall, please be sure to say hello!
aMS Kuala Lumpur, Oct 19
My first visit to Malaysia, and my first aMS (Azure, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint) community event where I’ll be talking about “Effective Microsoft 365 Governance for Small and Medium Businesses.” I’ll be joined on this APAC wave of events by Joanna Wyka from Rencore HQ in Germany. Looking forward to also seeing good friends from the community including Rico Ho, Paul Swider, Patrick Guimonet, Michael Noel, Gokan Ozcifci, Vlad Catrinescu, and Mike Maadarani.
aMS Singapore, Oct 21
Continuing on the APAC swing, I’ll then travel to the amazing Singapore with the motley crew mentioned above + another familiar face, Rene Modery. Looking forward to the event, of course, with a day off to explore before heading back to the airport on Monday.
aMS Manila, Oct 24
Rounding out the APAC tour, I’m excited to return to the capital of the Philippines, Manila, for my third aMS event in a week. It’ll be my first time back in 20 years. Since my daughter speaks fluent Tagalog, I’m planning to have a few key phrases memorized for my repeat session on M365 governance.
365 EduCon Chicago, Oct 31-Nov 3
The Rencore team had such a successful Educon event in Seattle, we signed up for the next one! Looking forward to my first post-covid trip to Chicago where we’ll be giving demo’s of the Rencore Governance solution and handing out TekkiGurus swag, so be sure to swing by the booth if you’ll be attending.
M365 Twin Cities, Minneapolis, Nov 11
Always happy to spend time with some of my favorite community people at the Twin Cities event. I’m not planning to present this time (unless someone else drops out and they need some help) but will spend my time as an attendee and chatting with partners.
Live! 360, Orlando, Nov 13-16
From Minneapolis, I’ll fly down to Orlando for my first TechMentor event in many years. I think my last time attending was 2015? While this massive event conflicts with Microsoft Inspire, my team felt that this event provided a better sponsorship opportunity, so the Rencore team will be there in force, and you’ll find me in the expo hall.
ESPC, Amsterdam Nov 27-Dec 1
I’ll be heading to Amsterdam for my 10th in-person (+2 online) ESPC events, which is one of my favorite events of the year. Rencore will have a large booth, and I’ll once again be heading up the Community Reporters and will spend a good portion of my time in the reporters space (the fishbowl), providing post-keynote, speaker, and attendee interviews during the week.
Vacation, Minneapolis in late Dec
And to round out the year, an actual vacation! We’ll be heading back to Minneapolis for a few days with our daughter and her family, enjoying time with our much-missed grandchildren, Izzy and Lily. I’m never a fan of traveling during the holidays, but with so much going on this fall, there just wasn’t any other time that worked. It’s on my list of goals to take more time off in 2024. Thinking about Hawaii in February if I can make it work…
Looking at 2024, I am planning on participating in a number of events that are already posted on the CommunityDays.org calendar, including events in Phoenix, DC, Miami, New Zealand, and Dallas, as well as our own CollabDays Utah on March 1st. Hope to see you at one of them!
