Talking About Governance in Southeast Asia
A quick post on my travels this past week and a half. I just returned from back-to-back-to-back aMS community events (Azure, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Singapore, and Manila, Philippines with a layover in Taiwan on the way home. It was a lot of ground to cover in 9 days, with a 50 degree (F) temperature drop upon returning to Utah.
This was my first time participating in the aMS event series, which are a sister event to the SharePoint Saturdays, Community Days, and CollabDays events held around the world, organized by the community, for the community. Rencore sponsored all three events, and I shared two sessions: In Kuala Lumpur and Manila, my session was “Effective Microsoft 365 Governance for Small and Medium Businesses” while in Singapore I presented a session that I’ve given half a dozen times, “10 Essentials for Effective Teams Governance.” You can check out the PDF versions of each linked to the images below.
It was great to get back to this part of the world. This was my first time back in the Philippines since 2001 — too long ago to recognize any changes or familiar landmarks, but it was great to once again visit and interact with the community. Malaysia was a whirlwind, but an amazing event overall with great customer and partner discussions that will continue over the coming months. Singapore included a bit of a layover, providing time post-event to walk the city (and lose a couple of lbs sweating in the heat) and see many of the incredible landmarks.
I’d like to once again thank all of the organizers of these events for including Joanna and I from Rencore, and for everyone who attended and make these events a success. Really looking forward to participating again next year.
And now I need to rest before getting back out onto the road next Tuesday, heading to Chicago for 365 EduCon. Hope to see you there!
