The Future of the CollabTalk TweetJams
Launched in January 2012, the CollabTalk TweetJams have been a major part of my community contributions — and have been an amazing source for ideas and community validation as a content creator. In almost 11 years of running these online events, I have only missed a small handful of months due primarily to travel. And some of you may remember the multi-day tweetjams run from events like TechEd and Ignite (which was a heckuva lot of work).
As in-person events have returned in this post-Covid era, I’ll be honest: it’s been increasingly difficult to maintain this monthly schedule and gather a plurality of experts around each topic. But I wasn’t willing to shut them down completely. That was never a consideration. With a new podcast/webcast launching on TekkiGurus next month, my 26-months-and-counting of daily blog posts, and my increasing travel plans, an adjustment needed to be made.
As such, I have made the decision to move to a quarterly model for scheduled events, with additional events available for sponsorship. This will allow me to better plan and promote the quarterly events, building a sizeable expert panel for each — while still leaving the door open to sponsored tweetjams during the other months. I’ve not been promoting the sponsored events as much as in the past, but I like the idea of keeping the quarterly events completely neutral and community-focused while supporting specialized topics funded by sponsors.
The next CollabTalk TweetJam will be held on December 27th at 10am Pacific, and will focus as we do every December on the biggest news and takeaways from the year, with predictions for 2024 and beyond. This is typically the biggest tweetjam of the year, so be sure to make space on your calendars!
