Can Bookings block in-person meeting requests when working elsewhere? #M365AMA
In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:
“I’m going to be working remotely (out of my home state) for much of June. I have my bookings calendar set up so that people can schedule a phone or video call with me or an in-person call. I was hoping that marking my calendar as “Working Elsewhere” would prevent people from being able to schedule an in-person appointment. It doesn’t work. Is there an easy way to mark my calendar as unavailable for in-person meetings, but I am available for phone or video calls? I’m aware I can do this in the bookings app, but is there a setting where this would be easier to do through my calendar or a setting in bookings? “

Some relevant notes/links shared by the team:
- The panel’s primary advice: create 2 different services.
- Microsoft Answers: A support person provides Microsoft’s definitions around appointments and meeting options, which unfortunately points out the flaw that you’ve discovered….and it’s by design [https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/appointments-meetings-show-as/55e9f713-9fa9-441d-8c98-8a92cbee6edb]
- A great 3rd party tool that resolves this issue for some of the panelists is Calendly [https://calendly.com/]
