Changes to #MVPbuzzChat

MVPbuzzChat logoWhen I started recording the #MVPbuzzchat series back in March 2018 with my first guest, former MVP-turned-Blue-Badge Harjit Dhaliwal, I was capturing and posting these “Hello World!” interviews sporadically as I had time to record and get through post-production. At some point during the pandemic, interest grew in the series, and I found myself with enough content to post them weekly. They now go live every Monday. I’m planning to keep that going. However, I’m planning to make some changes.

Later this month I will be migrating my blog from Azure to Bluehost for performance reasons. In case you haven’t heard, WordPress on Azure is not ideal. Instead, I’m moving to a premium service and will be giving the site a performance overhaul.

Moving my WordPress blog from Azure to BluehostAlong with this change, I’ve been thinking about my podcasting efforts and how to better promote them. The main issue is that I think I need to separate my weekly #MVPbuzzChat interviews from my primary #CollabTalk Podcast efforts. Right now they are on a single stream. I plan to create a second channel and promote them separately. There is no way to migrate the 245 existing episodes, so they’ll remain where they are, and a new channel will be launched and promoted. That means that future #MVPbuzzChat episodes will be added to a new, standalone channel on your favorite podcast sites. It’s going to take a bit of work on my part, but I think it’ll benefit both the MVP series as well as my primary podcast, which is also a weekly show.

So…long story short, none of the existing links will change (because I don’t believe I have any other options with migration) but new links added to my #MVPbuzzChat summary page on my top nav will point to the new location. And if you’re a fan of both the MVP interviews AND my regular podcast, you’ll need to subscribe to both shows.

But promotion will be more streamlined, and I think it will improve SEO promotion for both shows.

Looking forward to the change! And don’t worry — a new episode will go live next Monday!
