Easter and the Living Christ

Easter has always been the most meaningful holiday for me. It centers on what I believe is the most important truth in all of human history: that Jesus Christ lives.

In a world that can feel uncertain and divided, this belief brings me peace. It’s not just that Christ lived a remarkable life — healing, teaching, and lifting others — but that He lives still. That He conquered death and offers hope to us all.

One of my favorite declarations comes from a statement called The Living Christ, issued by the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

“We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary.”

That simple truth changes everything for me. It reminds me that Easter is more than a story of the past — it’s a celebration of the present. Christ’s resurrection means that love is stronger than death, and that new life is always possible.

Another line I love:

“He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come.”

Not everyone who reads this may share my faith, and I respect that deeply. But I hope we can all feel the invitation Easter offers: to believe in renewal, in second chances, and in something greater than ourselves.

If you’re interested in reading the full statement I mentioned, you can find it here: The Living Christ

Wishing you a meaningful Easter!
