Building Your Brand in the SharePoint Community
In response to questions from attendees at the last couple conferences I attended in Seattle and Boston, I wrote a long article for EndUserSharePoint.com outlining a number of ideas for how someone could “break into” the SharePoint space and start building their personal brand. As I summarized the topic for EUSP’s Chief Guidance Counselor, Mark Miller, and it’s gargantuan 3,000+ word girth, he suggested breaking it up into a series of articles to make it more consumable. Jumping on that idea, I broke it up into three core strategies: SharePoint events, social media tools, and content creation.
As I neared completion on this body of work, I realized that even at its current length (now over 5,000 words across the three articles), the content might be better packaged and shared as a single document so that someone could go through and develop an action plan across the three strategies. So I quickly generated a template, and named this free, 21-page PDF “Inside the SharePoint Community: Three Strategies for Building Your Personal Brand.” This ebook provides guidance on how anyone can plug themselves into the SharePoint community, with almost 30 specific suggestions that I have personally put into practice.
