The Future of Unified Communications
If you follow me on social, you’re probably aware of the campaign that I’ve been running over the last couple of months around “The Future of Unified Communications” which is being sponsored by Verizon Business. The content I’ve been sharing centers around a panel discussion captured late last year, featuring fellow MVPs Adam Ball (@AdamCBall), Josh Blalock (@ExpertOfThings), and Dino Caputo (@dinocaputo), discussing the current state and future of Unified Communications (UC), and Verizon’s relationship with Microsoft.
As I outlined in a previous blog post, the partnership between Microsoft and Verizon Business is pivotal in defending your UC systems against sophisticated cyber threats. Leveraging Microsoft’s security features, including Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) and Defender for Cloud, along with Verizon’s commitment to secure communications, this alliance creates a solid defense mechanism for UC systems. The integration of Verizon Mobile for Microsoft Teams (VMMT) highlights this collaboration, enhancing security and communication across devices. By combining Microsoft’s cloud security with Verizon’s network expertise, the partnership offers a comprehensive, adaptive security strategy.
Within the panel discussion, we answered 4 key questions:
- How does Verizon’s integration with Microsoft Teams stand out from other unified communication solutions in the market? [0:07]
- What are some of the common business challenges when integrating mobile telephony with platforms like Microsoft Teams? [2:40]
- What are the benefits of leveraging Verizon’s LTE network versus using a voice solution for Teams calling? [6:36]
- How do external calling solutions that integrate with Microsoft Teams address the varying needs of diverse work personas? [8:40]
